How I Saved My Cat Sylvester When 05-Months of Vet Drugs Failed and Much More!?

Description

I've got nothing against vets. I think they have the best jobs in the world cause they have the best patients in the world - critters. Approximately Christmas 2012, I was outside to feed the cats and looking for Sylvester and his mate Oreo. Both are Tuxedo Cats (black & white). Sylvester came up to me limping and I noticed all four of his paws were swollen. To make a long story short, early January 2013, the vet told me he was the 1st cat he's ever seen with this auto-immune disease called Plasma Cell Podotermatitis. The vet advised me to consider putting Slyvester to sleep. After 05-months of expensive vet drugs, I finally took matters into my own hands. I took Slyvester off the vet drugs and started giving him a "human concoction." Within days Sylvester's ailments were going away. More than 03-years later as I update this book, Slyvester is still around. He's COMPLETELY CURED. I stopped giving him that 'secret' concoction a long time ago. Sylvester is back to his normal self. As a matter of fact I have yell at him cause he beats-up the other cats! Ornery critter uh!!! Plus I give you loads of other critters experiences like how I saved my other cat Elden, how I saved Titanic (koi fish), how I care for my 60 koi fish and I invented water filtration / aeration pumps that are far superior to that stuff I use to buy, home-made flea traps superior to the stuff I use to buy, ... and much more. If you have any critters, please get this book for them, cause sometimes them smart vets don't have all the answers.

How Would Buddha Act? : 801 Right-Action Teachings for Living with Awareness and Intention

Description

In How Would Buddha Act?, best-selling author Barbara Ann Kipfer offers a unique, modern take on the ancient teachings of Right Action-the Buddhist concept of acting in loving, compassionate ways and responding to others with the intention of doing no harm. In the book, you'll learn that every thought, word, and deed has a consequence, and that by trying to be a better person in day-to-day life, you will be taking meaningful steps toward true enlightenment. If you're like many others, you probably live an overbooked, stressful life. And when you feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and rushed, it's easier to engage in negative behaviors like overindulging in food or alcohol, watching too much television, maxing out your credit card, or neglecting those you love. You might find yourself on autopilot, completely unable to connect with your friends, family, and community. This book offers 1,500 affirmations to help you avoid these common pitfalls, and stay on the path to enlightenment.

C S Forester: Ship of the Line

Ship of the Line

Description

May 1810, seventeen years deep into the Napoleonic Wars. Captain Horatio Hornblower is newly in command of his first ship of the line, the seventy-four-gun HMS Sutherland, which he deems "the ugliest and least desirable two-decker in the Navy List." Moreover, she is 250 men short of a full crew, so Hornblower must enlist and train "poachers, bigamists, sheepstealers," and other landlubbers. By the time the Sutherland reaches the blockaded Catalonian coast of Spain, the crew is capable of staging five astonishing solo raids against the French. But the grisly prospect of defeat and capture looms for both captain and crew as the Sutherland single-handedly takes on four French ships.

2010 Reprint of 1925 first edition. This book is about the Great Masters or Perfected men in human history. According to Leadbeater, the historical records of every nation are full of the doings of men of genius in all the different departments of human activity, men who in their special lines of work and ability have stood far above the rest-- indeed, so far that at times (and probably more often than we know) their ideals were utterly beyond the comprehension of the people, so that not only the work that they may have done has been lost to mankind, but their very names even have not been preserved. It has been said that the history of every nation could be written in the biography of a few individuals, and that it is always the few, towering above the rest, who initiate the great forward steps in art, music, literature, science, philosophy, philanthropy, statecraft, and religion. They stand high sometimes in love of God and their fellow-men, as great saints and philanthropists; sometimes in understanding of man and Nature, as great philosophers, sages and scientists; sometimes in work for humanity, as great liberators and reformers. Looking at these men, and realizing how high they stand among humanity, how far they have gone in human evolution, is it not logical to say that we cannot see the bounds of human attainment, and that there may well have been, and even now may be, men far further developed even than they, men great in spirituality as well as knowledge or artistic power, men complete as regards human perfections-- men The Day-by-Day Baby Book download ebook pdf precisely such as the Adepts or Supermen whom some of us have had the inestimable privilege to encounter? Leadbeater's book is about the these Masters and their path to perfection.

Oil Pulling Therapy: Detoxifying and Healing the Body Through Oral Cleansing

Description

If you have bad breath, bleeding gums, cavities, or tooth pain-you need this book! If you suffer from asthma, diabetes, arthritis, migraine headaches, or any chronic illness, and have not found relief, this book could have the solution you need. All disease starts in the mouth! As incredible as it may seem, most of the chronic and infectious illnesses that trouble our society today are influenced by the health of our mouths. Our mouths are a reflection of the health inside our bodies. If you have poor dental health, you are bound to have other health problems. Despite regular brushing and flossing, approximately 90 percent of the population has some degree of gum disease or tooth decay. Most people aren't even aware they have existing dental problems. Recent research has demonstrated a direct link between oral health and chronic illness. Simply improving the health of your teeth and gums can cure many chronic problems. More brushing, flossing, and mouthwash isn't the solution. What will work is Oil Pulling Therapy. Oil pulling is an age-old method of oral cleansing originating from Ayurvedic medicine. It is one of the most powerful, most effective methods of detoxification and healing in natural medicine. Dr. Fife's Oil Pulling Therapy is a revolutionary new treatment combining the wisdom of Ayurvedic medicine with modern science. The science behind oil pulling is fully documented with references to medical studies and case histories. Although incredibly powerful, Oil Pulling Therapy is completely safe and simple enough for even a child. Oil Pulling Therapy guarantees to give you fresher breath, healthier gums, whiter teeth and help protect you from many chronic health problems.

Sparkling Regency Romance from a Captivating New Voice The mysterious Time Tombs are opening and the Shrike that has risen from them may well control the fate of all mankind. The Ousters are laying seige to the Hegemony of Man and the AIs we created have turned against us to build the Ultimate Intelligence; God. The God of Machines. His genesis could mean annihilation for man. Something is drawing the hegemony, the Ousters, the AIs, the entire universe to the Shrike. Here is a hard rock memoir - essentially an authorised bio on the endearing British rock band Humble Pie - as told from the drum throne and backstage hallways during the Oil Pulling Therapy: Detoxifying and Healing the Body Through Oral Cleansing free download pdf emerging days of the seventies classic rock era. In 1969, Jerry Shirley was chosen to drum in a new band led by Steve Marriot and Peter Frampton. He had just turned 17. Along with bassist Greg Ridley, and manager Dee Anthony, the Pie started a 6-year journey that stormed the US and defined Arena Rock - bigger sound, bigger contracts, and bigger parties. Along the way Jerry meets with future legends that make for a star-studded bio and rare glimpse into the rock music industry. Written in his own voice and with a wicked musician sense of humor, Jerry details the vibrant scene that created the explosive sound of heavy rock. He explains how sessions were conducted by iconic engineers like Glyn Johns and Eddie Kramer, describes his session work with Syd Barrett and George Harrison and tells amusing tales like drum shopping with the Who's Keith Moon.

Bullying for Beginners: How Organisations Benefit from a Culture of Bullying and Harassment and a Practical Guide on How to Be a Bigger Bully

Description

It is a universal truth rarely acknowledged that for a society to take a matter seriously it must first be able to find it funny. And whilst workplace bullying is a serious matter, it only seems to be discussed in hushed whispers or by ‘trouble-makers’ who have the audacity to stand up for themselves and their colleagues. So, on the one hand, this fascinating and well-researched book examines policies and practices of organisations (increasingly in the public sector) that don’t just protect The Bully but also benefit from bullying behaviour. And on the other, it’s a comic expose of how The Bully goes about its business, constantly avoids consequences, and thrives within a blinkered organisation that accepts this behaviour as ‘normal’.Holding up a distorted mirror to society, this book will enable managers and workers to see the true nature of the culture in which we work. It throws the spotlight on a subject that is prevalent in every aspect of our society today but one which is, too often, never confronted. Bullying for Beginners also breaks the silence – using a tragi-comic perspective - that has long protected The Bully and the culture that supports its tormenting ways.

Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog find excitement and adventure wherever they go in Enid Blyton's most popular series. In their third adventure, the Famous Five discover that someone has been on George's island. And what is locked in the mysterious trunk hidden on Kirrin Island? The Famous Five think they're on the trail of smugglers - until they hear a child scream...This edition features The Greatest Newspaper Dot-To-Dot! Puzzles: Volume 5 free epub the original cover art and inside illustrations by Eileen Soper. This is a sweeping historical novel set in Constantinople at the time of the Crusades. Constantinople, 1179 Princess Agnes of France is thirteen when she marries the heir to Byzantium, and empire unmatched in wealth, power - and glamour. But once she sets foot in the Queen of Cities, a decadent world where dazzling luxury masks unspeakable cruelty, she realises that her husband has mighty enemies and treacherous allies. As emperors rise and fall, Agnes learns to play the City's game - until she falls for a handsome rebel and finds that love is the most perilous game of all. Christopher Barzak: One for Sorrow

One for Sorrow

Description

NOW THE MAJOR MOTION PICTURE "JAMIE MARKS IS DEAD " Part thriller, part ghost tale, part love story, "One for Sorrow" is a novel as timeless as "The" "Catcher in the Rye" and as hauntingly lyrical as "The Lovely Bones." Christopher Barzak s stunning debut tells of a teenage boy s coming-of-age that begins with a shocking murder and ends with a reason to hope. Adam McCormick had just turned fifteen when the body was found in the woods. It is the beginning of an autumn that will change his life forever. Jamie Marks was a boy a lot like Adam, a boy no one paid much attention to a boy almost no one would truly miss. And for the first time, Adam feels he has a purpose. Now, more than ever, Jamie needs a friend. But the longer Adam holds on to Jamie s ghost, the longer he keeps his friend tethered to a world where he no longer belongs . . . and the weaker Adam s own ties to the living become. Now, to find his way back, Adam must learn for himself what it truly means to be alive. Praise for "One for Sorrow" Christopher Barzak s sympathy and humor, his awareness, his easeful vernacular storytelling, are extraordinary, and his mournful, unforgettable teenagers drive us deep into the land of the dead practically before we've even fastened our seatbelts. Jonathan Lethem, author of "Motherless Brooklyn" An amazing, original debut from an amazing, original writer. "One for Sorrow "may be the most haunting ghost story I ve ever read. Karen Joy Fowler, author of "The Jane Austen Book Club" An uncommonly good book with brains, heart, and bravery to spare. Readers who don t find themselves in sympathy with Barzak s characters were never adolescents themselves. Kelly Link, author of "Magic for Beginners" "" An honest and uncanny ride through the shadows between grief and acceptance. This is how real magic works. Scott Westerfeld, author of "Uglies" and "Extras""

It also does not shy away from difficult truths such as the true nature of Finland's participation in Operation Barbarossa, and the massive scale of rapes committed by German troops. Illustrated with over 250 photos, many never previously published, and several clear and detailed maps, this is an objective, balanced account, published in time for the 75th anniversary of the start of Operation Barbarossa on 22nd June 2016. Christer Bergstrom has once again produced what will be the definitive account One for Sorrow free download pdf of this monumental campaign. "Even readers with a great knowledge on the subject will have much to learn from this book. Bergstrom presents several totally new aspects. For anyone who wants to understand Operation Barbarossa from the perspective of both sides, this is a must-have book." - Niclas Sennerteg, military historian and author of several books on World War II.

Joanne Harris: Different Class

Different Class

Description

The gripping new psychological thriller from Joanne Harris, to follow her bestselling Gentlemen & Players and Blueeyedboy. Perfect for fans of Claire Mackintosh, BA Paris. Paula Hawkins and Tracy Chevalier. After thirty years at St Oswald's Grammar in North Yorkshire, Latin master Roy Straitley has seen all kinds of boys come and go. Each class has its clowns, its rebels, its underdogs, its 'Brodie' boys who, whilst of course he doesn't have favourites, hold a special place in an old teacher's heart. But every so often there's a boy who doesn't fit the mould. A troublemaker. A boy with hidden shadows inside. With insolvency and academic failure looming, a new broom has arrived at the venerable school, bringing Powerpoint, sharp suits and even sixth form girls to the dusty corridors. But while Straitley does his sardonic best to resist this march to the future, a shadow from his past is stirring. A boy who even twenty years on haunts his teacher's dreams. A boy capable of bad things. "A masterpiece of misdirection". (Val McDermid). "Compellingly suspenseful...both a splendidly dark comedy and a disturbing thriller". (Ramsey Campbell). "Terrific twists pile up at a highly satisfying rate...you'll be hooked". (James Walton, Reader's Digest). What the critics said about Joanne Harris' psychological thrillers: "A terrific and absorbing suspense novel...twists and turns to keep you on your toes". (Peter Robinson). "Gripping psychological thriller...one of our most accomplished novelists...pace, wit and acute observation...at the top of her form". (Daily Express). "The plot is so cleverly constructed, the tension so unflagging, you'd think she'd been writing thrillers all her life". (Daily Mail). "[A] clever story of obsession and revenge". (Sunday Telegraph).

Stephen Cairns,Jane M. Jacobs: Buildings Must Die: A Perverse View of Architecture

Buildings Must Die: A Perverse View of Architecture

Description

Buildings, although inanimate, are often assumed to have "life." And the architect, through the act of design, is assumed to be their conceiver and creator. But what of the "death" of buildings? What of the decay, deterioration, and destruction to which they are inevitably subject? And what might such endings mean for architecture's sense of itself? In Buildings Must Die, Stephen Cairns and Jane Jacobs look awry at core architectural concerns. They examine spalling concrete and creeping rust, contemplate ruins old and new, and pick through the rubble of earthquake-shattered churches, imploded housing projects, and demolished Brutalist office buildings. Their investigation of the death of buildings reorders architectural notions of creativity, reshapes architecture's preoccupation with good form, loosens its vanities of durability, and expands its sense of value. It does so not to kill off architecture as we know it, but to rethink its agency and its capacity to make worlds differently. Cairns and Jacobs offer an original contemplation of architecture that draws on theories of waste and value. Their richly illustrated case studies of building "deaths" include the planned and the unintended, the lamented and the celebrated. They take us from Moline to Christchurch, from London to Bangkok, from Tokyo to Paris. And they feature the work of such architects as Eero Saarinen, Carlo Scarpa, Cedric Price, Arata Isozaki, Rem Koolhaas and Francois Roche. Buildings Must Die is both a memento mori for architecture and a call to to reimagine the design values that lay at the heart of its creative purpose.

Fresh out of college in 1986, Downs opened his first business, a small company that builds custom furniture. In 1987, he hired his first employee. That s when things got complicated. As his enterprise began to grow, he had to learn about management, cash flow, taxes, Buildings Must Die: A Perverse View of Architecture free download pdf and so much more. But despite any obstacles, Downs always remained keenly aware that every small business, no matter the product it makes or the service it provides, starts with people. He writes with tremendous insight about hiring employees, providing motivation to get the best out of them, and the difficult decisions he s made to let some of them go. Downs also looks outward, to his dealings with vendors and to providing each client with exemplary customer service from first sales pitch to final delivery. With honesty and conviction, he tells the true story behind building and sustaining a successful company in an ever-evolving economy, often airing his own failures and shortcomings to reveal the difficulties that arise from being a boss and a businessperson. Countless employees have told the story of their experience with managers "Boss Life "tells the other side of that story. "From the Hardcover edition.""

The World of 1 Corinthians: An Annotated Visual and Literary Source-Commentary

Description

In The World of 1 Corinthians Matthew Malcolm aims to broaden our understanding of Paul's letter to the church in Corinth by allowing us to see it in its wider context of Greek and Roman culture and literature. The book follows the text of 1 Corinthians in a fresh translation, with annotated citations and pictures throughout the text. The book will be used to complement conventional commentaries. Essential to the task of interpreting an ancient text is recognition of that text's historical origins. This book aims to help those who are separated from Paul and his Corinthian audience by 2,000 years toward an increased appreciation of their world.

The Byzantine Army was the closest the middle ages came to producing a military superpower. Built on a strong belief system emphasising stealth, surprise, swift manoeuvre and overwhelming force, the "Byzantine infantryman" was trained in survival, sword, spear and archery techniques and also land and sea combat and fighting within the foulkon 'turtle' formation. Timothy Dawson, an expert in the training and techniques of the Byzantine Army, details the everyday experience of the infantryman from his recruitment, through his twice-a-day training regime to his encounters with his enemies. Full-colour artwork richly illustrates their incredible warrior society and gives a real insight into how they lived. Will God allow me to divorce my abusive husband? Would it be a sin if I remarried? Divorce and remarriage are major pastoral issues facing every church. Yet when we turn to Scripture for guidance, we often hear conflicting messages about its teachings. David Instone-Brewer shows how, when properly understood, the New Testament provides The World of 1 Corinthians: An Annotated Visual and Literary Source-Commentary download ebook faithful, realistic and wise guidance of crucial importance and practical help for the church today.
